GlobalG.A.P
What it is: GlobalG.A.P (Good Agricultural Practice) is one of the world's most widely recognized farm assurance standards. It certifies that produce is grown, harvested, and handled according to strict protocols covering food safety, worker health and safety, environmental sustainability, and traceability from farm to pack.
Why it matters:
- For retail buyers: Confidence that what's in the pack was grown safely and responsibly — not just processed to look clean.
- For B2B/export buyers: GlobalG.A.P is often a baseline requirement for supplying international retailers and supermarket chains in the EU, UK, and beyond. It signals your supply chain is export-ready.
GlobalG.A.P GRASP
What it is: GRASP (GlobalG.A.P Risk Assessment on Social Practice) is an add-on module to GlobalG.A.P that specifically assesses the welfare of workers on the farm — fair labour practices, safe working conditions, and social accountability.
Why it matters:
- For retail buyers: The people who grow and pack your food are treated fairly and safely.
- For B2B/export buyers: Many international retailers require GRASP alongside GlobalG.A.P as proof of ethical labour practices before they'll list a supplier — this closes that gap.
SMETA Audit
